Honoring Lynn Rowland’s Retirement and Welcoming Chaquandra Hudson as Newly Appointed City Clerk
The August meeting of the Lyons City Council was filled with appreciation and heartfelt emotion as we recognized two of our own.
We honored Lynn Rowland upon her retirement following 26 years of faithful service as City Clerk for the City of Lyons. Throughout her distinguished career, Lynn served our community with professionalism, integrity, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. While we celebrate this well-earned new chapter, her presence, guidance, and dedication will be deeply missed. We sincerely thank Lynn for her lasting contributions and wish her many blessings in retirement.
We were also pleased to welcome special guests Angie Conner and Pam Helton from the Georgia Municipal Association. On behalf of the association, they presented Lynn with a proclamation recognizing her professional accomplishments and lifelong commitment to continuing education. Mayor Willis NeSmith also presented a proclamation honoring Lynn for her exceptional service and lasting impact on the City of Lyons.
During the meeting, the Lyons City Council proudly appointed Chaquandra Hudson as the new City Clerk. Having served as Assistant City Clerk under Lynn’s guidance and mentorship, Chaquandra is well prepared to begin this important new role. Her dedication, leadership, professionalism, knowledge, and wholehearted investment in our community make her exceptionally well suited to serve the citizens of Lyons.
